I was at a UK basketball game that night and when we returned to our fraternity house (Lambda Chi Alpha) there was a list on the bulletin board that showed the results of the first lottery, listed from #1 to #365.
One of my fraternity brothers saw his birthday at #1 and excitedly said "I won!". The rest of us let him know we weren’t so sure about that.
I ended up getting a draft exemption.
