I was No. 38. I managed to get into an Army National Guard mechanized infantry unit. I spent six years with that group, on "immediate reserve status" for three of those years. I had to drop out of NCSU seven weeks into my final semester for basic and AIT, and later had to return for a full semester to graduate. Also lost all of my initial job prospects.
I hope Melvin Laird pays for what he did to so many young men–some weren’t as lucky as I was.
